"While you were out..."

So… Garry and the kids went to Oklahoma for Casey & Christa’s 10th wedding anniversary party a couple of weekends ago! They left on Wednesday and didn’t come back until Sunday afternoon. I had to stay behind to work, so I found something to keep me occupied while I was home alone! I have been wanting to remove the wallpaper in the kitchen for sometime now and finally just dove in! I started taking wallpaper down on Wednesday night and by Friday night, my mom and I were STILL working at getting it down. What a job! And, yes I did recruit my mom! She accepted, willingly of course! She might think twice the next time, but we had lots of fun while we were at it. After all of the wallpaper had come down, we filled some nail holes and cracking in the ceiling and painted it! Then we made yet ANOTHER (at least the 3rd) trip to Home Depot for light fixtures, which we hung around midnight on Saturday night! Yes, WE hung them!! And they WORK!!! Then I textured the walls and mom replaced door handles and recovered my chairs (with some awesome fabric she found!) and by 4:15 on Sunday morning, we were almost ready to paint! We slept for a few hours and regained conciousness after a much needed trip to Starbucks! And then we were back at it! We almost had everything painted by the time the gang pulled in! I think Garry thought he was on the HGTV show “While you were out!” The kitchen is back in working condition now and looks awesome! We love it! Garry said he might leave more often and see what happens!!! And by the way… they had a great time in Oklahoma! I will post more info and pictures on that a little later!

Look! No wallpaper!!
